DANC 280 - Musical Theatre Dance 1
Survey of historical musical theatre dance and related social dances influencing Broadway stage choregraphy from c. 1900 to the present. Emphasizes origins of early musical comedy through minstrelsy, burlesque, vaudeville, and musical revue extravaganzas, and the practical use of these movement techniques. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. A total of 6 credits may be earned, but no more than 2 in any one semester or term.
