GEOG 491 - Sustainable Tourism Development |
Considers how to develop destinations and activities that integrate sustainable economic growth and community involvement with minimal adverse impacts on the environment. Topics addressed include tourism resource assessments, destination development models, market analysis, and practicalities associated with tourism plan creation and implementation. Emphasis is placed on the interaction of public and private developers across the international, national, destination, and site scales.
Prerequisite: GEOG 261 or permission of the instructor.
