DANC 132 - Introduction to Tap 1 |
An introduction to tap dance technique and theory at the beginning level. Emphasis is placed on rhythmic structure in conjunction with tap technique fundamentals and vocabulary. The history of tap dance as an American vernacular form is studied, paying attention to its practice in musical theatre and concert formats. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. A total of 3 credits may be earned, but no more than 1 in any one semester or term.
