EDEL 102 - Reading and Writing in Transdisciplinary Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Classrooms |
Grounded in language and literacy, teacher candidates are introduced to a transdisciplinary approach to curriculum and instruction in elementary classrooms. Elementary educators need to be able to effectively develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics into their daily instruction. Experiences are offered in hybrid teaching situations in elementary classrooms. The transdisciplinary approach to curriculum integration dissolves the boundaries between the conventional disciplines and organizes teaching and learning around the construction of meaning in the context of real-world problems or themes.
