The study of lighting design including basic principles of artificial lighting, daylighting, current trends in lighting technology, photometrics/calculations, and the integration of acoustics and ceiling systems. Includes exploration of human safety, health/well-being, building energy codes, aesthetics, and the psychology of color and light. Prerequisite: IDES 224. Open to Interior Design Majors and Interior Design Minors only.
