DANC 401 - Advanced Topics in Dance Studies |
Engage students in current trends and issues within the field of dance studies. Informed by race studies, gender studies, disability studies, economics, and politics as students explore the intersections of these topics with global contemporary dance. A space for praxis, as students write and move in response to readings, discussions, and film viewings. Additionally will delve into the writing of dance, repositioning and rehearsing writing as a means of choreographing ideas. Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson. Open only to theatre and dance majors.
