NUTR 645 - Nutrition and Food Policy |
This course explores select food and nutrition related policies in the United States. Students will learn the overview of the roles and responsibilities of federal agencies, local government agencies, private-sector firms, and other special interest groups in the formation, implementation and evaluation of food and nutrition related policies. The course will also compare and contrast national and international perspectives on food and nutrition policies and programs used to support food security and global nutrition.
Prerequisites: There are no formal prerequisites for taking the course; however, students are expected to be familiar with the basic principles of nutrition.
