Emphasizes the importance of a racial and cultural representativeness among media; examines media portrayals of racial and cultural diversity; examines the influence of mass media portrayals of racial and cultural diversity on individuals and society from social scientific and critical cultural perspectives; examines relevant contemporary issues related to racial and cultural diversity; and introduces inclusive media best practices. Prerequisite: junior standing.
