MATH 201 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers 2 |
In-depth exploration of concepts in mathematics for elementary teachers, including fraction concepts and operations, proportional relationships, and algebra with a focus on reasoning, sense-making, problem solving, and communicating mathematical ideas. Includes analysis of children's mathematical thinking and connections to the elementary mathematics curriculum.
Prerequisite: MATH 100 with a C- or better grade, or permission of the department chair.
Open only to concentration 1 mathematics teaching majors, or majors in elementary, special, or early childhood education.
