Emphasizes nineteenth-century procedures through studies of compositional styles and analysis. Required mastering of diatonic and chromatic modulations and higher hierarchical chordal structures in tonal context and traditional forms. Advanced laboratory drill in analysis. Prerequisite: grade of C or better in MUST 112.
