SOCW 615 - Clinical Social Work with Groups |
This course examines clinical social work with groups in mental health and addiction settings. Related theories, concepts, and models are explored to develop effective skills for working with groups. Students will learn practice theories for various approaches to group work and will demonstrate competencies with addictions, families, and diverse populations. Students will learn group leadership roles and management of disruptive group behaviors. In all practice areas, the Advanced Generalist social worker demonstrates a commitment to the promotion of social justice, an attitude of leadership, and an allegiance to ethics in the development of partnerships that benefit clients and enhance service delivery. This course is designed to prepare students for advanced licensure in clinical social work and addictions.
