EDMU 205 - Introduction to Multicultural Education |
Designed to expose students to a variety of literature and clinical experience that help students deconstruct privilege, institutional racism, exceptionalities, linguistic diversity, subtractive beliefs, LGBTQ issues, and other forms of isms and phobias relative to human diversity. Addresses the need for intercultural competence, culturally informed pedagogy, high expectations, and promotion of social justice.
*This course requires a 20-hour field experience-based exploration of course concepts with a local community organization in addition to the scheduled course meeting days and times.
