ANTH 241 - Gender, Sex, and Sexuality |
Provides an introduction to the study of sex, gender, and sexuality in anthropology. Examines sex, gender, and sexuality through cross-cultural case studies from around the world. Explores different theoretical models that anthropologists use to understand the role of gender, sex, and sexuality in different contexts. Studies various manifestations of masculinity and femininity around the globe as they relate to power, political economy, and identity (e.g. race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion). Not open to students who have credit in ANTH 441.
