Provides students with an overview of the U.S. healthcare system, its components and the policy and advocacy challenges created by its organization. Describes the structure and function of the various private and public health care entities within the U.S. Strengths and weaknesses related to cost, quality and access are also analyzed. Basic economic theories that drive financing will also be considered.
