PSYS 471 - Forensic Psychology
This course provides an introduction to the United States (U.S.) legal system and the use and practice of psychology within these settings. The course will cover key aspects of forensic psychology, including psychologists' roles in the legal system (e.g., assessment, expert testimony, etc.) and ways in which psychological research provides insight into legal processes (e.g., eyewitness memory, jury decision making, etc.). Prerequisites: PSYS 100 (Introduction to Psychological Science) and PSYS 318 (Psychopathology) OR permission of department chairperson.
