This online seminar examines the practice(s) and philosophy of teaching, primarily for postsecondary instruction. Emphasis on journalism/media courses, but the content is largely transferable to other academic disciplines. The course includes application of Bloom's taxonomy and Gagne's instructional-design models, introduction to and best practices for Gallup Clifton StrengthsFinder, examination of teaching-philosophy statements, discussion of factors that can influence teaching, and development and reflection of prepared lesson plans used in actual instruction.
