This immersive learning course will cover the same linguistic material as a traditional JAPA 202 course but will also include immersive learning experiences in the form of research and presentation of Japanese culture. The immersive learning components include continuous communications and virtual meetings with our community partner(s) in Japanese, discussion with your group, reflections, and trips to the Ball State Fishers Center to collaborate in hosting Japanese cultural events for young students with Japanese heritage background. Planning and hosting the cultural events will be BSU student-driven and your Japanese instructor will be a guide in the process. Students will be required to attend at least one of these immersive learning field trips for the course. Asynchronous online assignments will be schedule for the weeks between field trips.
