DANC 240 - West African Forms 1 |
A movement course covering traditional music and movement forms originating from West Africa. Special attention will be given to learning the narratives surrounding the dance and understanding the relationship between the movement and the music. Session class will include a warm-up, movement breakdown, discussion, and live music when available.
A total of 6 credits may be earned, but no more than 2 in any one semester or term.
Prerequisite: permission of the department chairperson.
